PRECURSORS TO TV CELLO AND PAIK'S ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT. Nam June Paik was born in Seoul, Korea in 1932. He moved to the United States in 1964, where he lived and worked until his death in 2006. As television became ubiquitous in the 1960s, he began to experiment with the medium, pioneering the development of media-based art.
